fundamentalist mutants have re-grouped, armed themselves to the teeth,
and are planning to build a time machine.  Holed up in a castle, their aim is to go back to 1982 and prevent the launch of the ZX Spectrum.
Fortunately, Izzy has used the intervening years to acquire a bronze magic certificate and now has a few simple spells to help him in his latest battle against these rogues.  In order to succeed, Izzy needs to banish all the mutants and blow up the castle where the mutants are building their machine.

IRON SPHERE

NOW CONVERTED TO THE ZX SPECTRUM

During a particularly stormy night, a powerful bolt of lightning hit Professor Roland Iron-Sphere's secret laboratory. This proved to be disastrous for the Professor, as this sudden surge in electricity transported him into his own experiment. Parts of the apparatus vaporised and mutated, while other sections crystallised into diamonds. Your mission, should you except it, is to control Professor "Rolly" as he tries to collect all the diamonds to enable him to escape from the experiment. Watch out for the unstable structures along the way, as  once the Professor starts rolling he will not be able to stop.

The concept is extremely simple, but this is a nice little game which is fairly addictive as well and has that 'one more go' factor.   8/10

Cover of Stranded

STRANDED

Stranded is a puzzler type game in which you control a strange blobby character called Moosh. The aim is to guide Moosh to the exit, which sounds simple enough, except that each time you step on a tile, it disappears into the cold vacuum of space below.  As a result, you need to study each level before you play, to establish your route through the maze.  To complicate matters, conveyor belts, and moving tiles make your job more difficult!  The game features very colourful graphics and effects, smooth sprites, 32 levels and a password system.

"STRANDED is another solid release from Cronosoft .. will keep puzzle fans thoroughly entertained"

FARMER JACK

in

HARVEST HAVOC

Jack loves his home-brew wine.   What started as a hobby, with a lone demijohn of elderberry wine bubbling away in the under stairs cupboard, has become big business for him in a few short years, and the number of allotments he owns, to grow the fruits, is getting bigger every year. Big business isn't easy though - this year another supplier has been flooding the market with cheap nasty wine, but Jack's wholesome organic produce still rules the market - despite all the competition tried.  But last night, at the end of another fabulous growing season, when he had started collecting the fruit for this year's vintage he heard a clanging of metal, smelt the foul smell of big business, and saw huge steel monsters roaming the allotments, trampling the paths and destroying his crops!  "By eck! Me 'arvest! It's a rum-do this!" Jack exclaimed, and off he set again to gather his harvest, and deal with the competition's mechanical menace that was threatening his livelihood...

"With this and other high quality Cronosoft titles available, it might well be time to buy yourself a Speccy if you haven't already got one working"

MEGAPLEX

128K

The story: You are Murphy, a bug-hunter inside the PC. Your job is to remove bugs from programs inside the computer. To do this, you must collect vital pieces of information, called infotrons. If you have enough, you can fix it, and continue to the next bug.

The game is divided into 111 levels, starting easy, and getting gradually more complicated, and harder to solve. Every level features one or more puzzles, which may require a good deal of thinking, and trying, to find the right solution. Every tile can contain an object, which can be Murphy, an enemy (called sniksnaks and electrons), zonks, infotrons, exploding diskettes, and other objects. The object of every level is to collect a fixed number of infotrons, and then get to the exit as fast as possible, without getting killed anywhere.

While there is only one goal to finish the level properly (collect enough infotrons and get to the exit), there are usually several ways to complete that goal, and, unfortunately, also several ways to die. If you die, you have to restart the level from the beginning, but all previously completed levels will be safe (phew!). You can die from making contact with your enemies (sniksnaks and electrons), from an explosion (if you are too close to an exploding object), or by committing suicide when you are stuck.

EGGHEAD IN SPACE

THERE IS ALSO A BBC VERSION OF THIS GAME!(EMULATOR ONLY)

Aliens have hidden all of Egghead's Spectrum games in an underground labyrinth. It's up to you to get them back!   A colourful platform game puzzler for the ZX Spectrum. Also known as EGGHEAD III, as it is the third in the Egghead trilogy of games.  The original Egghead 1 and 2 appeared around 1989 on a CRASH magazine covertape.

CRONOSOFT's first ever release in 2002, and still selling well, it has become the one of the best selling titles to date. It's success has spawned a conversion for the BBC and Acorn Electron computers, though due to duplication problems, is at present only available as an emulator image.

MICRO MART  magazine reviewed the game.

 "It's cheap, it's cheerful and it's fun. "    Overall 8/10,

DEAD OR ALIVE

Heavily inspired by the classic Capcom arcade game GUNSMOKE, this vertically scrolling shoot-em-up will keep you playing for ages!

Originally written in the early 1990's by Jonathan Cauldwell, this game finally hit the Spectrum scene in 2004

Trainspotters amongst you will notice the redesign of the original cover, which was in fact crap, and features a WANTED picture of former Commodore and Atari fat cat Jack Trameil.  These highly collectible versions are probably worth at least 4 pounds on EBAY. :-)
